DOCUMENTATION AND OTHER VENDOR REQUIREMENTS FOR CAR CIGARETTE LIGHTER ADAPTORS

EMC REPORT COVERING:

AS/NZS CISPR 32:2015
Electromagnetic compatibility of multimedia equipment - Emission requirements
This supersedes both AS/NZS CISPR13 and AS/NZS CISPR22
This is required for the main product. If a plugpack power supply is bundled with it, then either the CISPR32 report should include that adaptor, or a separate report be supplied for the adaptor.

OTHER MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

CAR ADAPTOR
Car DC (Cigarette Lighter) adaptors must meet the following requirements:
A fuse or PTC overload protector must be fitted in the 12V input line
If supply current runs from the positive contact through a tensioning spring, the spring must not produce a voltage drop of more than 250mV at the maximum rated current.
If a voltage regulator is used, it must be able to cope with the normal range of voltages expected in an automotive enviromnment - up to at least 17V, preferably 30V to allow for truck use.
If a voltage regulator is used, output over-voltage protection must be provided in the event of a short-circuit regulator. Typically this will be a 1W zener diode with a breakdown voltage about 20% higher than the rated output voltage.
